SW20 MR2 Boxster Caliper Installation Instructions
This is to aid in the installation of the SW20 MR2 Boxster Caliper Kit.
Each section will be for BOTH Front and Rear unless otherwise specified.
1) Prep Work
You will need to remove all the existing brake components, such as caliper, caliper bracket, rotors and dust shields.
2) Install caliper adapters
Install caliper adapter mounts in the orientation shown. "Engineer Freely" text will be facing outwards on both front and rear.
Torque bolts and nuts to a max of 92 ft*lbs
3) Install Rotor.
- Front: Use RX8 Rotor Rings and install the rotor.
- Rear: Install rotor as normal
4) Install Brake Lines
Front: Attach supplied brake line to existing hardline. Use new clips on the chassis bracket and on the strut bracket. The struct bracket thickness will vary between manufactures of struts. The supplied shim can be used if the clip is too loose.
Rear: Attach the rear brake line mount with supplied hardware (torque 2 screws to a maximum of 20 ft*lbs). Attach supplied brake line to existing hardline. Use new clips on the rear brake line mount and on the strut bracket. The struct bracket thickness will vary between manufactures of struts. The supplied shim can be used if the clip is too loose.
Loosely install the banjo bolt and 2 crush washers on the caliper. Once the caliper is mounted, tighten up the banjo per instructions below.
Tighten new supplied lines to Toyota hard lines.
5) Install Caliper
Install caliper using the 2 supplied socket head cap screws. Torque to 65 ft*lbs. Recommended to use Blue Loctite during installation.
6) Tighten brake lines
Tighten Banjo bolt to caliper using supplied banjo bolt and 2 crush washers. Recommended torque is between 10 ft*lbs and 15 ft*lbs.
